At last someone has built a green live/ work building in Sheffield. The Cube is an innovative model for Sheffield providing an environmentally friendly live and workspace located in the heart of the creative hub of Sheffield - and it’s great value for money. This is a new concept offering a practical, modern, flexible solution to the problem of ‘walking the talk’ in ethical living.

An innovative feature of the building is its green roof, the first in the city. The Sedum roof provides energy saving insulation, prevents heat loss, is cool in summer, reduces pollution, helps prevent flooding by retaining water and provides a sustainable natural environment for wildlife and insects. The Cube live/work Scheme has been developed as a demonstration project by the Cultural Industries Quarter Agency (CIQA) in partnership with Derwent Living Housing Association. The Scheme is funded by the Yorkshire Regional Housing Board in association with Sheffield City Council, and is managed by the Showroom Workstation.
